
On November 7th, the autumn sun shone brightly over the campus of Changsha Kangli Craig School. This school, featuring high-quality international education, hosted a cross-regional educational event — the 2025 Fall Semester Cogdel Education Group International Curriculum (Humanities) Teaching Seminar.
Psychology and economics teachers from nearly 10 campuses under the group gathered together with puzzles from teaching and enthusiasm for exploration. Amidst the collision of ideas and sharing of experiences, they jointly explored solutions to break through the bottlenecks in the teaching of humanities in international curricula.
Focus on Pain Points in Humanities Teaching
In the field of international curriculum teaching, although subjects such as psychology and economics bear the important mission of cultivating students' humanistic literacy and critical thinking skills, they often face many challenges due to their status as niche subjects.
The faculty scale of humanities subjects in many international schools is relatively limited. In daily teaching and research, teachers often encounter the dilemma of lacking resources and diverse perspectives in curriculum refinement.
What's more challenging is that the curriculum systems of different campuses vary: some focus on the IB curriculum, emphasizing inquiry-based learning; some prioritize the AP curriculum, focusing on academic depth; others highlight the A-level curriculum, requiring the completeness of knowledge systems. A single campus is difficult to accurately cover the differentiated requirements of all curriculum systems, leading to the difficulty in accumulating high-quality teaching experience, which has become a major obstacle restricting the development of the subjects.
